our new book is.. and a giveaway.

Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert. i am excited to read it again, it has been decades. This book was very controversial at the time, in fact it was banned and Gustave Flaubert was shunned, but then the ruling over turned only made this book more popular and it quickly became it's creators masterpiece.

I hope you enjoy it, emma is an incredible character.

I will be giving a reader a box filled with things to accompany a night with good novel.
you must  comment below letting me know that you will read  Madame Bovary and post about it. then send me a link when you have and i will announce the winner on my blog on
January 25th. Good luck!

Whenever possible buy your book from an independent book store new or used or visit your library!

  9. Strange - one of my resolutions this year is to revisit (or just visit!) the classics. Count me in, I'll dust off my old French copy from my university days and will definitely post about it! Thanks for the inspiration.

  10. My copy arrived last week and I devoured it in two sittings...absolutely human novel, thanks for the selection. Will blog about it as soon as I have made the desert...something decadently French!
